Menus

Each week includes chicken, fish and meat meals. Plenty of fruit and fresh vegetables. The recipes with (*) after them are vegetarian recipes but have been designed so you can add meat if you wish. For instance, a small measure of bacon in the Corn Fritters turns this vegetarian dish into a meat dish and the cost will be less than 80c.

Everything has been designed around easy cooking with packed lunches for school or work and a 'take away' special for weekend treats (except that you'll be eating in and it will taste better.

Breakfasts include egg on toast, or wheet biscuits or a Sunday treat of Hot Cake Stack with Honey.

We have listed the menu for dinners which are:


Week 1.

  • Spinach Triangles with vegetables (*)
  • Chicken and Spinach Risotto
  • Fish Cakes with Vegetables
  • Lentil Shepherd's Pie with vegetables (*)
  • Spaghetti and Meatballs
  • Easy Hamburgers and Chips (Saturday night takeaway replacement)
  • Vegetable Stir Fry with Rice (*)

Week 2

  • Chicken Provincial with Roasted Pumpkin, Potato and Onion
  • Rissoles with Gravy, Mashed Potato and Peas
  • Spring Rolls with Fried Rice (*)
  • Tuna and Zucchini Pasta
  • Corn Fritters with Skillet Baked Vegies (*)
  • Pizza with Garlic Break (Saturday night takeaway replacement) (*)
  • Hearty Beef Stew with Dumplings and Vegetables.
